Hello Sounds is our kinder program for 3 and 4 year olds — a warm, playful small group that builds the early language and sound skills your child needs to walk into Prep ready, settled and confident. It's led by a speech pathologist, and it feels like play, because at this age that's exactly how children learn best.
Long before a child reads their first word, their brain is laying the groundwork. In each Hello Sounds session we gently strengthen that groundwork through songs, games, stories and hands-on play — building a strong foundation for your child to start school on, in a way that feels easy and stress-free.
Rich spoken language is the foundation reading is built on — and, as speech pathologists, it's our speciality. We grow your child's words, sentences and listening through play (oral language).
Rhyme, clapping syllables and noticing the first sound in a word — the listening skills that make learning letters click (phonological awareness).
A gentle, playful introduction to how letters and sounds go together (phonics).
Blending sounds together to read their very first words — and feeling proud doing it.
Building the fine-motor strength and pencil control that handwriting will later need.
Taking turns, making friends and settling into the rhythm of a classroom — so school feels familiar long before day one.
Counting, sorting and spotting patterns woven into the same hands-on play — a gentle introduction to early maths (early numeracy).
Above everything, we want your child to leave each session a little more in love with stories, words and reading.
Reading begins as a spoken-language skill — which is exactly what speech pathologists specialise in. That's the difference your child gets in every Hello Sounds session.
The early skills that matter most at this age are language skills. Your child is guided by a clinician who understands exactly how they develop.

Every game has a purpose. We follow a structured, evidence-based sequence — the Science of Reading — wrapped up in play your child will simply enjoy.

Hello Sounds runs in small groups, so places each term are limited. There's no screening or referral to sort out — just enrol and your child is in. If you'd like to talk it through first, we're always happy to chat, with no obligation.
