Hello Sounds is our kinder program for 3 and 4 year olds — a warm, playful small group that builds the early language and sound skills your child needs to walk into Prep ready, settled and confident. It's led by a speech pathologist, and it feels like play, because at this age that's exactly how children learn best.

What we work on

The skills underneath reading — built through play.

Long before a child reads their first word, their brain is laying the groundwork. In each Hello Sounds session we gently strengthen that groundwork through songs, games, stories and hands-on play.

Common questions from kinder parents

Hello Sounds isn't about pushing early reading. At this age we're building the spoken-language and sound-awareness skills that reading is later built on — hearing rhyme, clapping syllables, noticing the first sound in a word, and loving stories. Children who arrive at Prep with these foundations in place find learning to read far easier.
Yes. Hello Sounds is designed for 3 and 4 year olds in the kinder years, before Prep begins. It's a gentle, play-based introduction to the skills underneath reading and writing, run in a small group so your child gets plenty of warm, individual attention.
Kinder gives your child a wonderful broad early-childhood experience. Hello Sounds is more focused: a speech pathologist working with a small group on the specific spoken-language and early-literacy skills that set a child up to read. The two work beautifully alongside each other.
Not at all. Children join exactly where they are — there's no test to pass and no screening to book. In the early sessions we get to know your child through play, so the group naturally settles at the right place for them — never too hard, never too easy.
